Warning: This post contains spoilers from House of the Dragon Season 2, Episode 2.

While they’re not without their own issues — and really, what marriage is? — the scene in Sunday’s episode between the Queen That Never Was and The Sea Snake was a quiet, loving exchange that spoke to the pair’s long relationship. In bed, presumably after making love, Rhaenys lay on Corlys’ chest as they spoke about the tumult at Dragonstone following Rhaenyra and Daemon’s argument. The scene was such a refreshing palate-cleanser that TVLine couldn’t wait to talk about it with Eve Best (who plays Rhaenys) and Steve Toussaint (Corlys). Turns out, they loved it as much as we did.
After joking in the video above that perhaps the sweet moment was “a first for the franchise,” Best points out that even in the afterglow, “they’re still talking about politics!”
“You can’t drop the plot completely,” Toussaint chimes in, laughing.
