“RHOSLC”'s Mary Cosby Accused of Body-Shaming Costar Heather Gay During “WWHL” Appearance

Cosby took a swipe at Gay's clothing size while playing the show's "Versace or Hibachi" game

Mary Cosby is facing heat after her recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live.

During Tuesday night's episode of the Bravo show, the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star, 50, made a comment about costar Heather Gay that has fans accusing her of "body-shaming."

Cosby's comment came amid a game of “Versace or Hibachi,” where host Andy Cohen asked her and her fellow guest, comedian Ziwe Fumudoh, to rate recent outfits worn by Bravo stars.

Showing a photo of Gay, 49, wearing a Gucci x Adidas logo-print corset, Cohen, 55, asked, "Mary, did Heather get it right with this Gucci top and chain necklace?"

"No," was Cosby's immediate response. "I don't think Gucci makes that," she added, seeming to imply Gay's top was a fake.

Cosby then took another swipe at her costar. "I've never seen a corset in, like, a size 14. Have you?"

Her answer prompted Fumudoh, 31, to gasp in shock and say in a scolding tone, "Mary Cosby!" Cohen appeared equally taken aback.

"That's my opinion," Cosby added, doubling down.

Gay caught wind of Cosby's remarks and spoke out on a post from the bravo by betches Instagram account featuring a clip of the WWHL moment.

"It’s real. And it’s spectacular! 😜" she wrote of her corset.

Many fans came to Gay's defense and sent her supportive messages in the comments.

"I think Mary wishes she could rock those curves," one person wrote, while another chimed in, "She’s jealous — period. You look incredible."

Other fans went further, accusing Cosby of "body-shaming" Gay with her corset comments. "The fact she feels so comfortable fat-shaming Heather is despicable," one person said.

Cosby, who exited RHOSLC ahead of season 3, returned this season as a friend, making periodic appearances. Though she's known for stirring up drama and offering her unfiltered takes on the group, costar Meredith Marks told PEOPLE last month that she was "excited" to have Cosby back.

"She brings a very unusual humor to the show," Marks, 51, said. "I also like that she's pretty direct and doesn't really hold her opinions back, so I thought it was great to have her back."

"She's just funny. She makes me laugh," Marks added.

Earlier this year, after news broke that Cosby was returning to RHOSLC, an insider told PEOPLE that the cast felt the show just wasn't quite complete without Cosby in the mix.

"The ladies have said before the show was missing something without Mary last season," the insider shared. "So there's a feeling among all that the magic is back."

Fans appeared to agree. When footage of Cosby filming with the cast surfaced on social media at the time, reactions were largely positive. "Last season felt so off without her chaotic energy," one viewer wrote of Cosby, while another fan cheered, "Yaaaaassssssss I'm elated Miss Mary is back."
