Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan were the picture of marital bliss as they were spotted holding hands during a lunch date, 37 years into their marriage. The beloved This Morning duo took a break from their hectic schedules to enjoy some quality time together.

Good Morning Britain's Richard Madeley, 67, was seen strolling hand-in-hand with his wife Judy, as they made their way to The Spaniards Inn in Hampstead, London. Richard opted for a relaxed look, donning blue jeans, a crisp white T-shirt, and a black puffer jacket, completed with a pair of New Balance trainers. Meanwhile, Judy, 75, looked effortlessly chic in a flowing grey top paired with black trousers, accentuated by a Chanel necklace.

The couple, who live in Cornwall, shielded their eyes with sunglasses while soaking up the sunny weather. Post-lunch, Richard demonstrated chivalrous behaviour, opening the door of their cream VW Beetle for Judy. The television icons celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary earlier this January, having shared a home for over four decades, reports the Mirror.

Reflecting on their long-lasting union on Good Morning Britain, Richard expressed his astonishment: "I can't believe it actually... because it seems about 15 years but yeah it's my 37th wedding anniversary! " His co-host Susanna Reid congratulated him, saying: "Wow, congratulations Richard and Judy! " Richard added: "Actually, because we were together a few years before that, it's actually sort of 40 years of being under the same roof, which is just ridiculous!"

Susanna Reid playfully suggested: "Long service medals all round... or just for Judy!" to which Richard Madeley humorously responded: "I think just for Judy, yeah!"

He then shared that they were planning a 'posh dinner' to celebrate their long-standing partnership. The duo first crossed paths back in 1982 when Richard joined Granada as a co-presenter with Tony Wilson and Judy Finnigan, who was already an established journalist and eight years his senior.

Judy fondly reminisced about their initial encounter, saying: "I remember the first time I saw him. He walked into the newsroom and I was sitting at my desk at the other end," and she detailed her first impressions of Richard's attire: "I remember exactly what he was wearing: a pale blue linen suit. I thought he looked nice. Tall, handsome and all that but I thought the suit was a bit flash. Then, because he was a newbie, I was assigned the job of looking after him."

And she's still looking after him to this day, more than four decades later.
