Across the country, people have turned out in their thousands to cast their votes in the General Election.

The Prime Minister's seat of Richmond and Northallerton is no exception, with candidates from a variety of political parties standing in the seat. With the ruling Conservative Party behind in the polls, a number of candidates will be seeking to be the first to ever defeat an incumbent Prime Minister in his own seat.

This also marks the first election since constituency boundaries were redrawn, meaning some people will find themselves within new seats with new elected representatives.
