Ricky Gervais denies being snubbed by 'lovely, gracious' Caitlyn Jenner
Ricky Gervais has denied claims he was snubbed by Caitlyn Jenner in an awkward run-in at the National Television Awards.
Jenner’s I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! jungle campmate Roman Kemp claimed on his Capital Breakfast radio show that he witnessed an icy exchange between the 70-year-old Keeping Up With The Kardashians star and The Office funnyman at the NTAs on Tuesday night.
But Gervais, 58, wrote on Twitter: “This is absolutely false. She was lovely and gracious. She said she loved my Golden Globes monologue & I said I loved her stint in I’m a Celebrity. And that was it. No snubbing. No awkwardness. No rudeness. @Caitlyn_Jenner”

Kemp, 27, told listeners on Wednesday morning: “And it happened… the most awkward encounter ever, Ricky Gervais reaches out his hand and says, ‘Caitlyn, so lovely to meet you.’ Caitlyn literally looks out the corner of her eyes and goes ‘yeah.’”
He went on: “Oh my god, she's going to shake his hand! This is really happening! Ricky's gonna say something to her! What's gonna say? OH my word! They're about to talk to each other."
Kemp claimed while he was living in the jungle with Jenner that she made it clear she was not a fan of Gervais.
He said: "It came up a few times in the jungle. Someone would say, ‘Oh, I love The Office, and she’d just have this stare of just like ‘No’.
"In Caitlyn’s mind, she has that constant hashtag of #RickyGervaisiscancelledparty, do you know what I mean? That is it."

Gervais came under fire from the trans community when he made a joke about Jenner while hosting the 2016 Golden Globe awards.
He said: ‘What a year she’s had. She became a role model for trans people everywhere – showing great bravery in breaking down barriers and destroying stereotypes... She didn’t do a lot for women drivers.”
Jenner came out as a trans woman in 2015. In the same year she was involved in a fatal multiple-vehicle collision in California.
