Rio de Janeiro Declares State of Emergency Amid Deadly Flooding

A state of emergency was declared in Rio de Janeiro on April 8 after heavy rain led to severe flooding. Three people were reported to have died as a result of the severe weather.

The rain continued on April 9, with several streets inundated.
