Rita Ora mocked after accidentally revealing she bought a copy of her own single

Rita Ora has been mocked by fans after she appeared to accidentally reveal that she had bought a copy of her own single, Your Song.

The 26-year-old excitedly showed off how well her collaboration with Ed Sheeran was performing in the charts with a screenshot of the single’s position in the iTunes UK top 5 on Instagram.

But in her haste, she appeared to forget that the image showed that she had downloaded her own single because it had a ‘play’ button, rather than a ‘buy’ one next to it.

Which, according to fans only happens on iTunes when you’ve already purchased something.

However, a spokesperson for Rita said: ‘All artists buy a copy of their single. They can’t expect fans to buy a single if they hadn’t bought it.’

But fans still saw the funny side and commented on Rita’s post: ‘You would buy your own song? Lol.’

While another posted: ‘Why did you buy your own song?’

Back in the TOP 5 UK!!! Amazing I can't believe it!! I love youuuuuu!!!! #yoursong ❤️❤️

And another commented: ‘Couldn’t you just like sing it to yourself for free.’

Ignoring her haters though, Rita later shared another image after the song had climbed up one more spot to number four.

‘Yayayayayyaahayah!!! So excited!! And proud! Ritabots your the best!! I feel so blessed and grateful! Xxx’ she wrote.

Rita previously revealed that she got in touch with Ed to see if he was free to collaborate, later admitting the song took hardly any time to record.

Speaking on Sunday Brunch last week, she said: ‘We recorded it, we went to the studio and perfected it, it was probably one of the easiest songs I’ve ever done, it was so easy, two hours.

‘Then we went to the pub and had a burger.’

Sounds like a good day at work to us.
