Road closed after accident involving two cars with emergency services in attendance

An Aberdeen road has been closed following a two-car crash this morning.

The A947 in both directions is closed south of Newmachar. The accident happened at around 8am this morning.

A police spokesperson said: "Following a two car crash on the A947 south of Newmachar that happened around 8am on Thursday, 9 May, the road is currently closed between the B979 at Kingseat Road and the A90 at Dyce.

"Emergency services are in attendance and drivers are advised to seek an alternative route."
