Road closures for Earlsdon Festival as Coventry's biggest street celebration returns today

Earlsdon Festival is taking place today with road closures in place to ensure the huge event runs safely. Earlsdon Street will be closed throughout the day today (May 6) as it hosts the heart of what is the city's biggest street festival.

All surrounding roads leading to Earlsdon Street will also only have resident and disabled access. The road closures came into force at 6.30am and will remain in place until 6.30pm tonight.

Thousands usually turn out for the event which will see the main high street filled with more than 60 stalls from food vendors and charity stalls. Also, in what is a first for the event, there will be children's rides located near to the Earlsdon Street near the island.

There will also be sporting activities and events on the playground at Earlsdon Primary School. Earlsdon Methodist Church and Earlsdon Library will also be playing home to events.

The event is set to run from 10am until 4pm, there will be seating available and there are maps available from volunteers and some stalls on the day pinpointing exactly where everything is taking place.
