The road closures which will be in place in Swansea for the 2024 Gorseinon 10k

Road closures will be in place in an area of Swansea as runners embark on the area to take part in the Briscoe Gorseinon 10k event. Taking place on Sunday, May 19, the 10k race will start and finish close to Penyrheol Leisure Centre before heading out onto Gorseinon High Street.

The runners will join the cycle path for approximately four kilometres, before taking on the final stretch back through Grovesend. There will be a number of road closures and traffic management procedures in operation on the day, which will also feature a 2k race.

Access will be maintained for all emergency vehicles at all times. All runners must arrive at Penyrheol Leisure Centre no later than 8.30am. The Brisco Gorseinon 10k will start at 9am, and the cut-off time is two hours. For the latest Swansea news, sign up to our newsletter here.

Restrictions between 8.30am and 9.45am are as follows:

  • Pontardulais Road (both directions)

  • Brynteg Road (and all adjoining roads)

  • Princess Street (and all adjoining roads)

  • High Street (and all adjoining roads)

  • Gorseinon Road (and all adjoining roads)

Restrictions between 8.30am and 11.30am are as follows:

  • B4296 (and all adjoining roads)

  • Pentre Road/ Grovesend High Street/ Coalbrook Road (and all adjoining roads)

  • Heol Y Mynydd (and all junctions/ adjoining roads)

  • Pontardulais Road (in both directions)

We would like to invite you to come along and show your support for this much-loved race back to the streets of Gorseinon and cheer on the runners, many of whom will be raising vital funds for local and national charities."
