Road set to shut for one month for gas works

A road is due to be shut for more than a month for gas works while motorists will be unable to use other streets in the Watford area for a shorter period of time because of other roadworks.

Part of Berry Lane, in Rickmansworth, is set to be closed from Wednesday until August 12 to allow a gas main to be replaced.

Drivers main also experience delays in St Albans Road, Watford, on Thursday when a sign is being replaced.

Sourced from the One.Network website, here is a selection of roadworks due to take place in our area over the coming weeks:

- Works by Network Rail mean Lammas Road, Watford, will be closed overnight from 10pm on Monday to 5am on Tuesday. A diversion will in place.

- A section of Berry Lane, Rickmansworth, is due to be closed for more than a month from Wednesday to allow Cadent to carry out gas mains renewal works. The closure, near to the junction with Valley Road, is scheduled to last until August 12. A diversion will be in place.

- Delays are likely in St Albans Road, Watford, when a lane will be closed from 9.30am to 3.30pm on Thursday. This is to allow a lit sign to be replaced outside No. 149b.

- Part of Queens Road, Watford, will be closed from 9.30am to 4pm, from July 15 to July 17, to allow loop cutting to be carried out. The road will be shut from the junction with Orphanage Road to Radlett Road but emergency access will be maintained at all times.

- Works by Affinity Water mean drivers will be unable to use Healey Road, Watford, from July 15 to July 18. A diversion will be in place.

- Moor Lane Crossing, Watford, will be shut to motorists from July 17 to July 23 for works by Affinity Water. Emergency access will be maintained at all times.

- Pathway reconstruction works mean North Road, in Chorleywood, will be closed to motorists for much of the daytime from July 17 to July 24. The closure is due to operate from 8am to 5pm.
