Jeremy Renner Reveals 'Mayor Of Kingstown' Has Begun Production On Season 3
Co-created by Oscar nominee Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon, Mayor of Kingstown follows the McLusky family, power brokers in Kingstown, Michigan, where the business of incarceration is the only thriving industry. Tackling themes of systemic racism, corruption and inequality, the series provides a stark look at their attempt to bring order and justice to a town that has neither.
In Season 3, a series of explosions rock Kingstown and its citizens, as a new face of the Russian mob sets up shop in the city, and a drug war rages inside and outside prison walls. The pressure is on Mike McLusky (Jeremy Renner) to end the war but things get complicated when a familiar face from his incarcerated past threatens to undermine the Mayor’s attempts to keep the peace.
Mayor of Kingstown also stars Dillon, Tobi Bamtefa, Taylor Handley, Emma Laird, Derek Webster, Hamish Allan-Headley, Nishi Munshi and Michael Beach. Season 3 is currently in production in Pittsburgh.
Sheridan, Dillon, Renner, Antoine Fuqua, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, Michael Friedman, Dave Erickson and Regina Corrado executive produce. Erickson also serves as showrunner. The series is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios and Bosque Ranch Productions exclusively for Paramount+.
In addition to his work in the Taylor Sheridan-verse, Kirkland has also appeared on CBS’ Criminal Minds and USA Network’s Monk. On the film side, he most recently starred in the thriller Impulse opposite Nick Cassavetes. He is repped by Cinterra Entertainment, Meyer & Downs and AEFH/Pinnacle Talent.
