Robbie Williams is considering hiring a private detective to find former Take That bandmate Jason Orange.

Orange, 49, left the band in 2014 saying he no longer wanted to be in the spotlight and has kept his whereabouts a secret ever since.

Williams, 45, revealed in his podcast with wife Ayda, At Home With The Williamses: “You know you can have that Find My Phone thing? The whole of Take That should have a locate Jason Orange thing because none of us know where he’s gone.

“I should hire a private detective - he finds out where Jason Orange is, we inject him with a beeping thing, a chip, then we know where Jason is at all times.”

“I go the extra lengths for my Take That brothers.”

A spokesperson for Orange told Yahoo UK he had no comment.

When Orange announced he was leaving Take That five years ago he said: “There have been no fallings out, only a decision on my part that I no longer wish to do this.”

Bandmates Howard Donald, Gary Barlow and Mark Owen have continued to tour and record as a three-piece since Orange’s departure.

Williams has since said that he would be up for another Take That reunion, but only if Orange on board.

He told This Morning: "I can genuinely say I don't know. I'm up for it. But I don't know what their calendar says, what my calendar says. I don't know what their manager says.

"We'd all love to do it. I'd love to get Jason back involved, realistically I don't think so. If we could get Jay back it would be perfect. But we shall see, watch this space."

Last year Donald told Loose Women: “Jason’s gone off the grid. He’s not taking emails or phone calls or stuff like that.

“But that’s good for him, that’s where he wants to be. I think he wants to be a million miles away from this at the moment.

“Who knows in the near future he might decide to change his mind and if he does he’s welcome back anytime.”

Barlow told The Sun in 2017: “He wanted to go off, live his life, and good luck to him if that’s what he wants to do. He’s spent a big part of his life being in the band, but he doesn’t want to do it any more, it’s that simple.”

Orange - who has a twin brother Justin who works as a DJ in Manchester - was spotted in a hotel in the city last December.
