Robert De Niro's Daughter Drena Visits Son Leandro's Grave: 'The World Misses You'

Robert De Niro's daughter Drena is grieving her son, Leandro De Niro-Rodriguez.

The 52-year-old actress — who is the adopted daughter of the movie legend — penned an emotional Instagram tribute to her son Monday alongside photos taken at his graveside.

Leandro tragically died from an accidental drug overdose on July 2.

“If everyone valued the depth of love & sadness, a person can feel I don’t believe we’d have wars, we wouldn’t hurt children or animals, our planet and oceans the way we do," her tribute read.

“I’m grieving both for myself, my loved ones and everyone who has ever lost a child or one whom they’ve loved so deeply,” she continued. “I’ll never get used to this, no one should 😢 Praying for the whole world to heal and for this heart that beats inside me to find peace.”

Drena also posted a snapshot of a rock with a winged heart drawn onto it which she placed at her son's graveside.

The actress captioned the Instagram story in Italian, “Mi manchi motto molto, il mio amore, mio cuore, Leo,” which translates to, “I miss you very much, my love, my heart, Leo.”

On the other side of the rock she wrote: “To Leo, we love you. The world misses you.”

“Love you sweet boy,” she also captioned a photo of flowers laid at his grave. “Rest easy and may you always stay full of love and light.”

Leandro was found dead at age 19 on July 2 in New York City. The chief medical examiner ruled his death an accidental drug overdose. Drena previously claimed on Instagram that her son had been sold "fentanyl-laced pills."

20-year-old Sophia H. Marks was later arrested in connection to the teen's passing.

In a statement to PEOPLE at the time, the 80-year-old Hollywood actor said: "I'm deeply distressed by the passing of my beloved grandson Leo."

"We're greatly appreciative of the condolences from everyone. We ask that we please be given privacy to grieve our loss of Leo."

Drena meanwhile shared "It is with immeasurable shock and sadness that we say goodbye to our beloved son Leo. We thank you for the outpouring of love and support and ask that we are given privacy at this time to process this inconsolable grief."

On Aug. 11, Drena remembered what would have been her son’s 20th birthday with a touching social media tribute.

"You would have been 20 yrs old today 💔 Thank you for the happiest and most profound 2 decades of my life, little angel," she wrote. "I hope you are at peace and your spirit is filled with joy today and always."
