Robert Pattinson is busier than ever as he marks another birthday.

Pattinson, who turned 38 on Monday, May 13, welcomed a baby with his fiancée Suki Waterhouse back in March. While the couple have not yet revealed the sex of their child, Waterhouse, 32, shared a photo of herself holding her baby wrapped up in a blanket on Instagram April 4.

The Batman actor became a first-time dad more than five years after he and Waterhouse, an English singer and actress, first sparked relationship rumors when they were photographed spending time together in London back in July 2018.

The couple have remained private about their life together over the course of their relationship; Waterhouse announced her pregnancy in November 2023 during a performance in Mexico, and PEOPLE confirmed she and Pattinson were engaged in December.

Pattinson, who recently starred in a Dior campaign, stepped out on the red carpet for the first time since he became a dad in April when he appeared at CinemaCon 2024 in Las Vegas alongside director Bong Joon-ho.

The actor and filmmaker appeared in Vegas to promote their upcoming movie together, Mickey 17, which Pattinson stars in alongside Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, Toni Collette and Mark Ruffalo.

Mickey 17 was originally scheduled to release on March 29, but Warner Bros. in February rescheduled it to premiere on Jan. 31, 2025, Variety reported. The movie will mark Pattinson's first live-action starring role since he took on playing Bruce Wayne in the 2022 hit The Batman.

“He’s got this crazy thing in his eyes," Bong, 54, told a CinemaCon audience in April when he was asked why Pattinson was perfect to star in the film, per Variety. “I felt like he could do all the different variations of Mickey in the story. He’s such a creative man.”

Little is known about Mickey 17, even though the sci-fi project released a teaser trailer in December 2022. The movie is based on the 2022 novel Mickey7 by Edward Ashton. According to Variety, Pattinson plays an "expendable" man on an expedition to colonize a new planet who refuses to let a clone take his place.

The book's official synopsis from Macmillan Publishers describes the main character as "a disposable employee on a human expedition sent to colonize the ice world Niflheim."

"Whenever there’s a mission that’s too dangerous — even suicidal — the crew turns to Mickey. After one iteration dies, a new body is regenerated with most of his memories intact," the description reads. "After six deaths, Mickey7 understands the terms of his deal…and why it was the only colonial position unfilled when he took it."

Other than The Batman, Pattinson most recently appeared on screen when he lent his voice to the English dub of 2023's The Boy and the Heron. The actor is expected to reprise his role as Bruce Wayne, a.k.a. Batman, in a sequel to The Batman; in March, The Hollywood Reporter reported the film has been delayed until October 2026.

Director Matt Reeves is returning to direct Pattinson's second Batman entry; the first film met Bruce Wayne as he goes toe-to-toe with the Riddler (Paul Dano). The movie costarred Zoë Kravitz, Andy Serkis and Colin Farrell, and it also teased Barry Keoghan as a character expected to star in future films as the Joker.
