The Rocketeer is getting a female-led reboot
We're no strangers to reboots these days, but what about a reboot of a reboot of an adaptation?
Although Disney already has one remake of the 1991 classic The Rocketeer in the pipeline, the House of Mouse is also planning another, separate, re-imagining.
Nearly two years after announcing plans to update The Rocketeer with a black female lead, Disney is now reportedly planning a TV series based on the original comic by Dave Stevens.
It's believed that the latest in a surprisingly long line of Rocketeer remakes will be aimed at two to seven-year-olds, so yeah, it's going to be very different indeed.

According to Gizmodo, the new, new Rocketeer will instead be Kat – rather than Cliff Secord – who receives the Rocketeer's jet-pack for her birthday. (Jealous.)
Joe D'Ambrosia, Disney Junior's senior VP, promised that the upcoming "exciting new adventure" series will be for "the whole family [to] enjoy together".
And let's face it, we do need more young female superheroes – we can't rely on the Powerpuff Girls all the time, can we?
Disney's feature-length reboot of the original film is still believed to be going ahead, with the updated version – set six years later – scheduled for a 2019 release.
The story will follow a female pilot as she steps into The Rocketeer's suit to prevent a corrupt rocket scientist from stealing jet-pack technology during the Cold War.
