Rod Stewart claims Elton John snubbed his efforts to end their feud
Sir Rod Stewart has revealed Sir Elton John snubbed his attempt to rebuild their friendship after years of feuding.
The I Don’t Want To Talk About It singer and Sir Elton, 73, used to be close friends.
But Sir Rod, 75, admitted to Chris Evans’s How To Wow podcast: “We don’t talk to each other anymore – big falling out.”

He claimed the Rocket Man singer “had the hump” last year after Sir Rod said his three year Farewell Yellow Brick Road world tour was “not rock ‘n’ roll”.
Sir Elton is father to sons Zachary, nine, and Elijah, seven, while Sir Rod’s youngest children are sons Alastair, 14, and Aiden, nine, and Stewart tried to get the family together for a friendly game of football.
The rocker revealed: “Last time I emailed him I said, ‘I’ve got this football pitch, would you like the boys to come up?

“You know, cos they both love football.”
But he revealed Sir Elton never replied, which upset him as at one time they had been “real close”.
Sir Rod is clearly not cautious about upsetting his old friend further as he said of Sir Elton’s biopic Rocket Man: “It was okay, I just wished it hadn’t been a musical. I mean, the dancing outside the council house made it a bit Mamma Mia.”
When Sir Elton announced his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour in 2018 Sir Rod said: “I did email her [Elton] and said, ‘What, again dear?’ And I didn’t hear anything back!

“If I retire, I won’t make an announcement. I’ll just fade away. I don’t think this is a big deal, it stinks of selling tickets... “It’s dishonest. It’s not rock and roll.”
Sir Elton recently revealed private details of Sir Rod’s love life in his autobiography Me Elton John.
