Rod Stewart's madcap Celtic dash for Rangers clash as rocker rides 24 hour whirlwind to walk into Parkhead storm

Rod Stewart has cemented his status as a Celtic superfan as he gets set for a whirlwind 24-hours of travel.

The Hoops-daft rocker kicks off his latest tour tomorrow night in Antwerp, Belgium, but with his heroes in action in a blockbuster showdown with rivals Rangers in what will prove key in the Scottish Premiership title race, the Maggie May singer has shown how far he is willing to go to show his support at Parkhead by going on a whistle-stop journey to and from his gig destination to be in Glasgow's east end.

Jim White - known best for his famous Deadline Day antics on Sky Sports News over the years - shared a tweet of Rod standing outside of a jet with a Celtic flag flying high ahead of boarding a plane. He details that the 79-year-old flew out to rehearse for the opening show of his European tour earlier today. He then plans to fly back to Glasgow in the morning to make the derby showdown before shooting back off to Antwerp to take to the stage tomorrow night.

He wrote on X: "Only a @CelticFC super fan like Sir Rod Stewart would fly to Antwerp this morning to rehearse for the opening show of his European tour Then fly to Glasgow tomorrow morning for the lunchtime Old Firm clash, then back to Antwerp to go on stage tomorrow night!"

It's a massive occasion that will take over Glasgow tomorrow with three points meaning so much to both Celtic and Rangers for different reasons. For Brendan Rodgers and his troops, claiming maximum spoils would put them six points clear at the summit with a superior goal difference and just two matches remaining. Philippe Clement and his men can draw level at the top should they emerge victorious and set up an incredible final week of the season with both clubs in midweek action before the final matches next weekend.

Both sides will face off one further final time this campaign in the Scottish Cup Final at Hampden. The duo will battle it out for the famous old trophy on May 25 with Rangers either eyeing up a Treble or both clubs looking to secure a double.
