The former Top Gear presenter is a huge fan of The Who singer and ‘She Does It Right’ hitmaker and personally asked them to come up with a catchy tune for the opening credits of the motoring show to rival Top Gear’s familiar ‘Jessica’ by The Allman Brothers.

A source told The Sun newspaper: “Jeremy is a huge fan of Roger and Wilko. The track which they played was a rocking blues number and would be great for the show. It’s one of a couple of options. Jeremy is also looking at getting his favourite band Hothouse Flowers to have a go.”

‘The Grand Tour’ will kick off next month on Amazon and insiders at the streaming service were recently treated to a special performance from the Who legend and Dr Feelgood singer which was said to be their “audition” to come up with an impressive signature intro for the highly anticipated series.

Clarkson teams up once more with Richard Hammond and James May to bring their quintessential British humour and presenting style to car fans and the trio are undoubtedly hoping to stir up trouble for ‘Top Gear’ by stealing a few million of its fans while their at it.
