Rolf Harris has one of his 12 sexual assault convictions overturned
Disgraced entertainer Rolf Harris has had one of his 12 convictions for indecent assault overturned on appeal.
The 87-year-old had launched a bid to clear his name by arguing that the jury in his trial for indecent assault had been ‘poisoned’ by false allegations.
Judges at the Court of Appeal have now ruled in his favour on one charge but the other 11 still stand and he is not permitted to have a retrial.

He also reportedly argued over the credibility of complainants against Harris.
Harris was s not in court for the ruling by the appeal judges.
The Australian TV personality was jailed for five years and nine months in June 2014 for 12 indecent assault offences against four victims – including an eight-year-old autograph hunter, two teenage girls and his daughter’s friend.
He was released from jail on May 19 after serving less than half his sentence.
