Joan Rowe

Joan Rowe, of Highfield Hall, Haslingden, passed away on April 25 at the Royal Blackburn Hospital, aged 92 years.

She previously worked at Ashworth and Hoyle, starting as a mechanist and progressed to supervisor. Joan enjoyed listening to Elvis, crafts, bingo, day trips. She visited Graceland and America a few times, she also enjoyed trips to The Sheraton, Blackpool at Christmas time.

She was a former member of the Greenfield Club.

Wife of the late Harry, Joan leaves behind her four nephews, one niece and their families and many friends.

A Requiem Mass will take place at St James The Less RC Church at 12pm conducted by Father Anthony McBride, followed by a cremation at 1.45pm at Burnley Crematorium. Family flowers and donations to B.H.F.

Matthew Williams

Matthew Williams, of Staghills Road, Rossendale, passed away on May 8 at Blackburn Royal Infirmary aged 41 years.

Matthew was a windows installation fitter for over 20 years.

His was part of the Lumb Valley Anglers, fishing was one of his passions in life and he enjoyed watching and playing snooker.

He had a love for Techno music, he was well known for mixing and posting his own music on Soundcloud.

Matthew was a member of the Lumb Valley Anglers, many social media Techno groups, a former member of many local private Snooker Clubs, representing them in team matches.

As all his children got old enough he taught them how to fish and enjoyed experiences of fishing together at weekends.

He was a fan and supporter of Burnley Football Club and enjoyed spending time with his younger son Lucas going swimming and on bike rides.

He enjoyed making his own curry recipes and family barbecue

Matthew leaves behind his two sons Ellis and Lucas and one daughter Ruby, two brothers Chris and Joe, parents mum Jeanette, stepdad Peter and dad Brian.

Aunts and uncles, nephews and nieces, many cousins and many friends.

A service will be held on Wednesday, May 22 at Hamers Chapel of Rest at Burnley Crematorium at 1.45pm, conducted by Andrea Robinson.

Terence Taylor

Terence ‘Terry’ Taylor, of Lee Road, Bacup, passed away on April 22 at Lumb Valley Care Home, aged 75 years.

He was a loving brother to Janet and Wendy.

Terry spent most of his working life at Yorkshire Bank. He liked to spend time in the garden and he was a great lover of animals.

His funeral will take place at Burnley Crematorium on Thursday, May 16 at 2.30pm.
