David Hartley

David Hartley of Driver Street, Crawshawbooth passed away at home on April 25, aged 78 years.

David was a self-employed builder, who enjoyed being outdoors - pottering in his shed/garage, helping his friends and neighbours with jobs.

He was a former member of The Progressive Social Club, where he was previously president.

David leaves behind his wife Carole, son John and daughter Julie.

Son-in-law John, daughter-in-law Julie, grandsons Jake, Alex, Elliot, Harris, Jack and Conor.

Granddaughters Ciara and Hayley, great-grandchildren Millie and Otis, Atticus and Avah, sister Ann, nephew and nieces and his beloved dog Wizz.

A service will be held on Monday, May 13 at Burnley Crematorium at 10.45am.

Ruth Maureen Sinclair

Ruth Maureen Sinclair, of Barnes Avenue, Rawtenstall passed away at home April 23, aged 65 years.

Ruth was a teaching assistant at Alder Grange School prior to Alder Grange, she was at Fearns High School.

Ruth enjoyed walking her dogs, being a surrogate mum to the neighbourhood known as Auntie Ruth.

She also enjoyed knitting, puzzles and Bingo.

Ruth leaves behind her three daughters, Jenny, Janine and Kim, three grandsons Jon, Teo and Sebi, sisters Yvonne and June, brothers Ron and Gerard and nieces and nephews.

A service will be held at Burnley Crematorium on Thursday, May 9 at 1.45pm, conducted by Neil Overton.
