Rounds of thunderstorms brought severe weather to southern New Jersey and other areas in the mid-Atlantic region on September 28, with hazards including strong winds and hail.

The National Weather Service (NWS) said a cold front would bring several storms to portions of Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. The NWS later said a second round of storms would be possible in the afternoon and evening of September 28.
