Royal Cornwall Show 2024 dates, parking, times, traffic, tickets and everything you need to know

The Royal Cornwall Show 2024 is almost here and is expected to attract record crowds. The annual agricultural event has become a popular visitor attraction for the whole family.

The three-day event, which takes place on June 6,7 and 8, features livestock, live entertainment, music and dance, a funfair, flower show and much more. And with an average annual attendance of 120,000 people, the Royal Cornwall Show at Wadebridge is the county’s biggest yearly event.

Each year, around 1,000 trade stands showcase their services and products, representing many business sectors and industries. Below is all visitors need to know about attending the show and some of the main attractions you can expect to see:

Line-up and main attractions

The Main Ring has a timetable of acts and presentations. Highlights include the JCB Dancing Diggers, the Shetland pony grand national, RAF Falcons, the grand parades that showcase the prize winners from the livestock and equine sections, showjumping and the mascot challenge.

The Woodlands Area features a diverse range of displays and demonstrations about trees and timber, woodlands and forestry. Demonstrations include advice on tree planting and woodland creation and wider woodland management.

The prestigious Duke of Cornwall Award will be presented to the farm business that has been voted as having most successfully developed their enterprise to deliver a sustainable approach to farming, forestry and/or food production within Cornwall or the Isles of Scilly.

Around 1,000 trade stands showcase their services and products, selling everything from cars to cheese. Highlights include the Royal Cornwall Food & Farming Pavilion, the Motor Fair, and arts and crafts marquees.

Live music and dance will feature across the showground, mainly at the two dedicated music stages and dance stage, the Kelly’s of Bodmin Stage and the Vertu Motors Stage. While the Cornwall Festival of Dance Stage, situated near the Flower Show, features almost 300 performers performing the likes of salsa and contemporary dance.

The Countryside Village will offer visitors the chance to enjoy a cross-section of country life, both current and traditional. The area features country skills and expertise that are vital to rural life, with demonstrations from industry experts. The demonstration area near the lake explores fishing, paddleboarding and coracle building skills.

Parking

Parking is free at the Royal Cornwall Show, and car parks are located in fields adjacent to the showground. Visitors will be directed by the traffic team to the closest car park in use, at the time they arrive.

Traffic and travel

The show takes place at the Royal Cornwall Events Centre, Whitecross, Wadebridge, PL27 7JE.

There is likely to be one-way and alternate routes in place at the time, so drivers will find the route well signposted from every direction. The showground is located around 1.5 miles west of Wadebridge on the A39.

When using a Satnav, visitors are told to follow the signage and/or traffic stewards even if that is contrary to Satnav instructions.

Times

Gates open for the general public at 8:30am each morning. Those who have bought tickets online before the day of the show can gain access from 7am. Members can also enter at 7am.

The Royal Cornwall Show closes from 6:30pm each evening, which is when the trade stands close. Entertainment in the Main Ring may go on longer.

Tickets

Visitors can buy tickets online, over the phone or on the day. Adult tickets cost between £11.50 and £23.50., child tickets between £6 and £3 and a family ticket costs £50.
