Kensington Palace has a "serious concern that Beatrice and Eugenie are becoming increasingly close to Harry and Meghan", according to a royal author.

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, daughters of Prince Andrew, have always shared a close bond with their cousin, Prince Harry.

Their relationship has remained strong even after the duke's controversial departure from the Royal Family with his wife Meghan Markle in 2020.

Now, it's been suggested that there's a "serious concern" within the palace that the princesses are becoming even more aligned with the Sussexes, the Mirror reports.

According to a royal expert, Prince Harry feels his cousins can empathise with him the most, given his current estrangement from his father and brother.

Tom Quinn told The Mirror: "There is serious concern at Kensington Palace that Prince Andrew's daughters Beatrice and Eugenie are becoming increasingly close to Harry and Meghan. Beatrice and Eugenie are moving across to what one Kensington Palace official described as 'the dark side'."

Kensington Palace, home to the Prince and Princess of Wales, Prince William and Kate Middleton, has long been the subject of rumours and speculation regarding the Sussexes' estrangement following their exit from the Royal Family.

Prince Harry bypassed his brother while stating that he would not meet his father due to schedule clashes when he flew to London last month, not mentioning his sibling in the announcement.

Mr Quinn went on to share: "Still furious that their disgraced father Prince Andrew has not been rehabilitated, Beatrice and Eugenie feel like outcasts, their sense of abandonment made worse by King Charles' refusal to allow them to be part of the inner group of working royals."

Meanwhile, Harry feels that his rapport with both his father and brother has "broken down completely", and perceives his cousins, the Princesses, as being "sympathetic" to his position.

Mr Quinn noted: "With the complete breakdown of relations with his father and brother, Harry feels that Beatrice and Eugenie are among the very few members of the family who are sympathetic to the position he finds himself in.

"He has always been fond of his cousins, but they are now more important to him than they have ever been."

This comes almost four years after Harry and Meghan Markle made their move across the pond to Montecito, California where they currently live with their two kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

Their international move took place several months after declaring they would be relinquishing their responsibilities as senior working royals.
