Royal Family 'keen for Eugenie and Beatrice to stay under the radar'

In a surprising revelation, it's been suggested that the Royal Family are hoping for the Yorks to maintain a low profile in the future.

Expert Andrew Lownie previously claimed that 'the Firm' wishes for Prince Andrew's immediate family to "stay under the radar".

Lownie, a royal biographer, stated that the scandal-ridden royal is viewed as an "embarrassment" by the rest of the family, while his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson "continues to generate unfortunate headlines".

Last year, the Duke of York was barred from attending the King's first official Order of the Garter of his reign, as Buckingham Palace started reducing the number of public events he attends. And yesterday (Monday) marked Andrew's third year of missing the annual event. Lownie, the author of Traitor King, disclosed that 'the Firm' is in need of more working royals after losing both Andrew and the Sussexes consecutively, as we previously reported.

But it's unlikely that Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice will take on significant roles as they both have young families, with Eugenie welcoming her second son last year.

"The Firm need more working royals but the daughters are young mothers and have careers. Eugenie spends much time in Portugal so not ideal," Lownie told the Express.

Princess Anne previously expressed her concerns about a "slimmed-down" Royal Family in an interview with Canadian broadcaster CBC News.

The Princess Royal - who often undertakes the most engagements of the family in a single year - said she did not believe reducing the size of the family was a "good idea".

Eugenie holds the position of associate director at the London art gallery Hauser and Wirth, while her elder sister Beatrice serves as Vice President of Partnerships and Strategy at tech firm Afiniti.

Eugenie and her spouse Jack Brooksbank divide their time between Britain and Portugal due to Brooksbank's role with Discovery Land Company.

"There's a hope the York family, in general, will stay under the radar... Their mother [ Sarah Ferguson ] continues to generate unfortunate headlines," Lownie commented.

Fergie launched her own podcast 'Tea Talks' with entrepreneur Sarah Thomson, where she asserts that no topic is off-limits.

Prince Andrew was compelled to resign as a working Royal in 2019 because of his connections with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

The Duke was deprived of his military titles, royal patronages and the suffix of His Royal Highness.

"The family see him as an embarrassment but he has never been one to be pushed around. Self-awareness is not one of his qualities," Lownie added.
