Royal Wedding: Kirsty Crooks Marries Prince

A teacher from Northern Ireland got a wedding day fit for a princess when she tied the knot with the Crown Prince of Lagos in County Armagh.

Kirsty Crooks, 27, of Loughgall, became a royal after marrying Nigerian Prince Mustapha Oniru on Thursday, the Portadown Times reported.

The small village welcomed royal guests from Africa including the Prince’s father HRM Oba (King) Idowu Abiodun Oniru and Queen Olori Arike Oniru as well as an entourage of officials and chiefs.

Prince Mustapha wore a wedding suit while his parents wore traditional Nigerian dress in what the bride’s mother described as a "very traditional Irish wedding".

The bride first met Prince Oniru while teaching in the British International School in Lagos, which is owned by the King, according to the News Letter.

The newspaper adds that the new princess plans to return to Lagos next year after completing the coming school year in Uxbridge, London, where she teaches French and German GCSE and A-level.

The couple are heading to St Tropez and Monaco for their honeymoon.
