The Late Late Show viewers hailed an interview with WWE star Becky Lynch on Friday night.

Lynch, whose real name is Rebecca Quin, chatted with the show's host, Co Down man Patrick Kielty. On the road for 52 weeks of the year, Lynch told Kielty how great it was to appear on the Late Late Show.

"This means I made it," she said.

"This is one of those shows I grew up watching and to be able to sit here with you. I've only been back for a couple of hours. It's been fantastic. It's a flying visit but I get home and get to stay at the mother's house and have a couple of cups of tea and have some toast and it's great."

Lynch spoke of how she juggles being a parent to a three-year-old as well as being married to fellow WWE superstar Seth Rollins.

"He just got surgery on Tuesday, he had knee surgery after tearing his meniscus a little while before Wrestlemania.

"His rehab is running after a little three-year-old now so that'll be great for his knee but normally we travel with her. We're very lucky, we have a tour bus. We wouldn't be able to do it without her because we're on the road four days a week in different towns every night and she comes with us."

Lynch has smashed through the glass ceiling in the WWE, coming up through the ranks and establishing herself and the women's division as top billing.

Such was her success that Lynch became the first female to main event Wrestlemania alongside Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey.

"I remember when I got signed to WWE I told my friend 'You just watch, I am going to main event Wrestlemania' and he didn't mean this to be disrespectful but he said that it's nice to have dreams but be realistic. And as much as a gut shot as that sounded like, it wasn't because I was like 'okay, watch me'.

"It felt right. The thing was I didn't want to be the main event because of a token gesture and because it was 35 years and it was time for the women to be the main event. It was the main event because people were behind me and were invested in the story I was telling. "

And viewers were full of praise for the WWE superstar.

Taking to social media, one user said: "Great to see Becky Lynch on the Late Late Show. Brilliant."

While another said: "Fantastic interview by Becky Lynch on the #LateLate"
