The monitoring group stated that a Russian Air Force Il-76 (RF-86843) and an An-26 military transport aircraft arrived at the Machulishchy airfield late on Feb. 26. Early on Feb. 27, the Il-76 flew to Russia’s Ivanovo Severny airfield. The planes arrived on the day a Russian Air Force A-50U AEW aircraft was reported to have been attacked and damaged.

Belarusian Hajun reported that according to information from open sources, the Ivanovo Severny airfield is a home base for the 610th Center for Combat Use and Retraining of Military Transport Aviation Flight Personnel (aviation personnel of military transport aviation), an aviation technical base and the 308th aircraft repair plant.

“It is in the 610th center that the A-50 AEW aircraft are stored, upgraded and repaired,” reads the report.

“And the Il-76 military transport aircraft of the Russian Air Force (RF-86843) is listed under the 610th center.”

The monitoring group believes that IL-76 aircraft could have delivered specialists or a set of spare parts to the Machulishchy airfield for the repair of the A-50 AEW aircraft.

The Russian Air Force A-50U AEW aircraft was reportedly damaged by a drone attack on the Belarusian airfield of Machulyshchi on Feb. 26.

It is from that airfield that Russian combat aircraft take off regularly, sparking air raid alerts throughout Ukraine.
