TV host Ruth Langsford has said husband Eamonn Holmes who has been suffering from serious back problems may ‘never be 100 per cent right’. The pair who presented This Morning together for 15 years have been battling Eamonn’s health issues.

GB News host Eamonn has suffered issues including an operation on his back which he said went wrong and confined him to a wheelchair at one point, and he also fell and broke his shoulder.

The 64-year-old has said that he still hopes he may get better than he is now. Ruth, 64, told Woman’s Weekly: “I look at Eamonn, who’s had his health and back problems, and it makes you realise how important your health is.

“I don’t know how much Eamonn’s mobility will improve. We live in hope. He does the physio, but there might have to be some acceptance that this might never be 100 per cent right.”

She went on: “With any care situation - and there are millions of carers in this country - it isn’t always easy but if something happens to somebody you love, you help them as much as you can.

“It’s testing but we manage as a family.” Ruth and Eamonn married in 2010 and together they share a son, Jack, 22.

Last year, Eamonn was left saddened after he couldn’t attend his mother Josie’s funeral due to his health. He said: “It’s as if somebody up there is playing with my life. In the past year I’ve had an operation on my back which went wrong and has confined me to a wheelchair. I’ve fallen and broken my shoulder. Honestly you could not make it up.”

While his back operation did ease some of his pain, he was then faced with the news that he wouldn’t be able to walk. Speaking to Gerry Kelly via the Irish Independent, he added: “I have tried every treatment, but you go, ‘Maybe I’ll never get out of it,’ which is a harsh reality to face.”
