Ruth Langsford has finally broken her social media silence after it was revealed that relationship counsellor Katie Alexander, 42, who has been comforting Eamonn Holmes following his split from Ruth, is reportedly in for "the long haul".

Alexander has been spotted with the GB News presenter on several occasions over the past year and has even been photographed at his home.

It's believed she hopes their close friendship could evolve into a long-term relationship in the coming months. Recently, she has been supporting Eamonn through his separation from Ruth, but her friends are quick to emphasise that their bond only strengthened once the marriage had ended.

Despite the revelations, Ruth, 64, continues to put on a brave face as she navigates life post-split.

On Thursday night, Ruth enjoyed an evening out attending Giovanni Pernice and Anton du Beke's London stage show, Together. She was invited by her good friend Anton, 57, and looked radiant as she posed for a photo with him at the end of the night, reports the Mirror.

Alongside the picture, Ruth wrote: "Great night watching Giovanni and Anton. Go and see it if you can. Fantastic dancers, fantastic singers, fantastic band. " In another Instagram story post, she added: "Thanks for inviting me Partner. If one of the dancers need a day off you know where I am."

After a source disclosed to The Mirror, it was unveiled that Eamonn Holmes's new companion is evidently more than just a passing acquaintance. The source divulged: "She is helping Eamonn through the tough times but doesn't want to be seen as a marriage wrecker. The friendship has grown in recent months but Eamonn's marriage has been over for some time."

They added: "She wants to help Eamonn with his situation and their friendship has grown over a period of time. She feels she will be close to him for a long period and is in this for the long haul."

With three children of her own and a professional background in marital therapy, Katie's consistent presence around Eamonn piqued public interest when she was sighted by his opulent apartment last week soon identified as someone supporting him amidst the strains of an imminent divorce.

The once-solid partnership between Eamonn and Ruth unravelled after a union lasting 14 years, culminating in a decision to part ways. A noticeable distancing emerged within their marriage, underscored by the fact that they hadn't been snapped together for two years.

Eamonn, renowned for his stint on This Morning, reportedly vacated the shared Surrey home last month after Ruth's discovery of correspondence with an unnamed woman on a computer.

Eamonn and Katie's chance virtual encounter occurred in 2015 on what was then called Twitter (X), as Katie engaged with one of his updates, sparking a dialogue. Their connection deepened when he showed up at a charity fundraiser in Yorkshire, not far from where Katie resides, ultimately leading to his patronage appointment while Katie served the charity as a therapeutic counsellor.

Eamonn and Ruth first crossed paths in 1997, thanks to some mutual friends. After dating for more than ten years, Eamonn proposed and they tied the knot in 2010.

When approached by The Mirror for a comment, the couple's representative chose not to respond.
