Ruth Langsford gave a small insight into her marriage with Eamonn Holmes just days before the couple announced they were divorcing.

The pair announced their marriage was at an end on Saturday, May 25, leaving fans stunned.

In the midst of the confusion, Ruth, 64, gave an awkwardly timed magazine interview where she confessed she was experiencing a 'testing time' with her husband, Birmingham Live reports.

Ruth expressed her concerns that Eamonn, with whom she shares son Jack, 'might never be 100 per cent right again' as she discussed the impact of his chronic back pain. Eamonn has been battling the condition for two years.

Despite undergoing surgeries and daily physiotherapy sessions, Eamonn has yet to find relief from the excruciating condition.

Ruth stated: "I don't know how much Eamonn's mobility will improve. We live in hope. He does the physio, but there might have to be some acceptance that this might never be 100% right."

"With any care situation - and there are millions of carers in this country - it isn't always easy. It's testing but we manage as a family."

Speaking to Woman's Weekly about the significance of maintaining good health, especially as one ages, she remarked: "I look at Eamonn, who's had his health and back problems, and it makes you realise how important your health is."

The Mirror reported on Friday that TV icon Eamonn has been enduring almost daily gruelling physiotherapy sessions in an effort to fully regain his mobility. He underwent surgery for bulging discs in his back but suffered a further blow when he fell and fractured his shoulder last year.
