A Rutherglen wrestling champion has inspired a teen tormented by cruel bullies to lose over seven stone in a year.

Kayden Fraser, who suffers from Asperger’s syndrome, was targeted over his weight prior to joining Rutherglen’s Attitude Pro Wrestling champion David ‘Ravie Davie’ McCallum’s Glasgow School of Wrestling.

However, through meeting new friends at the wrestling school and being inspired by his TikTok star coach, the 15-year-old has lost 105lbs, gained a new confidence and has started back at school.

His proud mum, Michelle, said: “He is going along to David’s Glasgow School of Wrestling six days a week and he has even started up at the gym.

“My husband has known David for over 20 years and Kayden has always loved wrestling since he was tiny. He’s loved David ever since he was young with him being a wrestler.

“He was asking him constantly when he was starting up the school, and since he has, he is never out of it.

“Kayden has tried other sports like football and judo, but he has never found anything he has loved this much. Because of David, Kayden is a completely different wean to what he was two years ago. He is so confident, has tons of friends and even has a wee girlfriend now. I never thought in a million years Kayden would have come on quite as much as he has.”

Michelle isn’t the only one who is majorly proud of Kayden, as David said: “He is like a wee brother or a nephew to me now.

“Since day one, Kayden has been here after pestering me nearly every day about opening a wrestling school.

“Now, this takes us to this weekend, where Kayden teamed with me in the Fairfield club, a venue Kayden has seen me wrestling in since he was a child, and he absolutely killed it. The wee man went on to become the youngest wrestler to ever compete for the CPW heavyweight title and he actually won his match by disqualification, which means, unfortunately, the title doesn’t change hands.

“However, he still put in one of the performances of the weekend in front of his wee mum and made her proud as punch, seven years on from when he asked me for a photo at a WWE show at the OVO Hydro.

“To lose the weight he has is a massive achievement, and I couldn’t be prouder of what he has managed to do since he joined.”
