Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have announced a new documentary series about their takeover of Wrexham AFC.
Reynolds (Deadpool) and McElhenney (It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia) — the new owners of the Welsh football club — shared details of Welcome To Wrexham in a video on Twitter.
"Our new show on FX is called Welcome To Wrexham," McElhenney explains.
"A docuseries centred in Wrexham, a working class town in North Wales in the United Kingdom."
"Earlier this year, we became owners of the football club in Wrexham," adds Reynolds.
The announcement of the club’s new ownership under Reynolds and McElhenney was made earlier this year.

With such prestigious acting careers and reputations, many were shocked by the pair's decision to co-own the side which plays in the fifth tier of the English football league.
Speaking about the documentary, the club said:
“From Hollywood to Wales, the pitch to the changing room, the front office to the pub, Welcome to Wrexham will track Rob and Ryan’s crash course in football club ownership and the inextricably connected fates of a team and a town counting on two actors to bring some much-needed hope and change.”
So happy to be part of #WelcometoWrexham on @FXnetworks with @RMcElhenney. He’s everything you’d want in a Co-Chairman but, for the record, he is only ‘mostly' sunny. pic.twitter.com/SD0ak6FCrG

In a statement, the duo said: “It is a special day for the two of us to become the latest stewards in the long and storied history of Wrexham AFC."
“Together with the players, the staff, the fans, and the local community, we can now pursue our goal to grow the team and return it to the EFL [English Football League] in front of increased attendances, and in an improved stadium, while making a positive difference to the wider community in Wrexham.”
Set to be produced by Boardwalk Pictures, home to the likes of Chef’s Table and Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop Lab, the series hopes to pair Reynolds and McElhenney’s “genuine love for the game” with the “welcome challenge of building on the heritage of this club.”
With FX entertainment being home to Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Nick Grad, President, Original Programming at FX Entertainment commented on his long-standing relationship with McElhenney and the hopes for their new venture:
“Rob McElhenney has been an all star on Team FX for years and now has partnered with the formidable Ryan Reynolds to bring glory to the ‘Red Dragons’ in the docuseries, Welcome to Wrexham.”
Welcome to Wrexham will be executive produced by McElhenney, Reynolds, Nick Frenkel and John Henion. The series is produced by Broadwalk Pictures.
UK and world broadcasters will be announced “in due course”.
