Ryanair issues urgent message to UK passengers 'flying to Morocco'

Ryanair has warned UK tourists flying out to Morocco as it rolls out a brand-new service to the North African country. Ryanair has officially opened its new base in Tangier, having commenced based operations from May this year.

This announcement represents Ryanair’s fourth base in Morocco, with two based aircraft (investment of $200m) and 25 routes including 13 new routes connecting Tangier with 8 new European cities and 5 new Moroccan destinations for the summer season.

Ryanair has also launched ultra-low fares on 11 Moroccan domestic routes. Ryanair’s CEO, Eddie Wilson said: “We are delighted to officially launch our new base at Tangier, which represents a $200 million investment and our fourth Moroccan base. This latest base opening is part of our record S24 schedule which will see Ryanair operate over 170 routes across the Kingdom, boosting tourism and connectivity.

"Our latest base opening takes Ryanair’s total investment in Morocco to over US$1.4bn, supporting over 5,000 direct and indirect jobs and delivering growth in the local tourism economy. We look forward to continuing to support Morocco’s economy, as well as regional & international connectivity, by positioning Tangier as a leading Summer destination with its museums, medina, souq and, of course, its beautiful beaches.
