Europe need the miracle of all miracles at Whistling Straits on the final day of the Ryder Cup.

After another torrid session on Saturday morning, the form of Sergio Garcia, Jon Rahm and Shane Lowry restored some European pride in the afternoon, though USA lead 11-5 going into the final day.

No team has ever come back from such a deficit in Ryder Cup history and the Americans need just 3.5 points to win.

Padraig Harrington has sent out under-performing Rory McIlroy to set the tone on Sunday, with his big hitters stacked early in the lineup to try and pull off a miracle.

When is the 2021 Ryder Cup?

The Ryder Cup takes place across three days, starting on Friday, September 24 and running until Sunday, September 26.

Where is the 2021 Ryder Cup?

This year’s Ryder Cup will be played at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin. The course has hosted the PGA Championship three times, most recently in 2015.

TV channel: All three days will be broadcast in their entirety on Sky Sports Golf, with some of the action also showing on Sky Sports Main Event.

2021 Ryder Cup format

The Ryder Cup is a match-play competition, with a total of 28 matches - split into three different formats - played across the three days.

On Friday and Saturday, players play in pairs, with four foursomes and four fourballs matches on each day, meaning only eight players on each team participate in each session. On the Sunday, all 12 players from each team play in a singles match.

The victors of each match claim a point for their team, while the point is halved if the match ends all-square. Should the two teams finish level on 14 points each at the end of the weekend, Europe - as defending champions - would retain the Ryder Cup.
