Tv personality Rylan Clark has shocked his fans by posting a picture of his bare face and natural hair colour. After shooting to fame on X-Factor in 2012, Rylan has become renowned for his jet-black hair.

The former competitor has since carved out an impressive career in showbusiness, with his dark hair and beard, brilliant white teeth, and makeup becoming distinctive characteristics of his television appearances.

In a surprising turn of events, though, the TV personality decided to show his natural appearance to his admirers via a selfie. With his freshly-dyed red hair styled into a choppy fringe, he looked strikingly different reports the Mirror..

Rylan captioned the picture: "Stripped colour from my hair to give it a reset. For anyone wondering this is what I look like with no colour in and no makeuppp."

His major transformation was met with scores of compliments, one fan praising: "Oh wow. You look fabulous/younger with lighter hair. Really makes your eye colour pop as well. Let the beard colour grow out for the summer too."

Another added their surprise, adding: "Crikey you look so different! You really suit this." Another person echoed this, adding: "Wow, you look great, and so much younger, definitely keep it!".

Rylan's celebrity friends were quick to offer their compliments, with Loose Women's Ruth Langsford saying: "I LOVE this colour! Keep it."

Katie Piper, the presenter, added: "Youthful," and added a love heart eye emoji. Vicky Pattison from Geordie Shore remarked: "Still gorgeous."

Meanwhile, Jedward playfully commented: "It's giving Troy Bolton from high school musical ya wild cat."

The BBC Radio 2 presenter, who first made waves with his long, blonde locks on The X-Factor, has previously disclosed that his natural hair colour is red. Last year, he posted an image of himself with a lighter beard, captioning it: "I MIGHT try natural for a bit."

In the same series of posts, he shared a selfie donning a green hoodie and baseball cap, showcasing his noticeably lighter beard. Gazing at the camera, Rylan captioned one of the photos: "Beard shaved... Run out of colour... Ginger for a day."

He uploaded another photo with a pout, writing: "Just call me ginger spice." He has also spoken about beginning to dye his hair when he was just 14 years old, telling The Sun: "I always struggled with how I looked growing up.

"At school I was the little fat ginger kid and used to get picked on. I was quite camp, so the gay thing played its part. I used to start dying my hair at 14."

The Gogglebox star admitted he might have taken botox and fillers "too far". "Do I sit here and have any regrets? Yes we all have regrets. I would love nothing more than to grow my hair out, stop colouring it, not have to trim my beard...but I created a look that people recognise," he reflected.
