Our heart goes out to Rylan Clark-Neal right now.

When Digital Spy caught up with him, the This Morning presenter was ecstatic about his new ITV show Babushka – which we have to say sounds amazing!

But for some reason, he's been receiving some pretty disgusting abuse from die-hard fans of The Chase because they've incorrectly assumed that the Bradley Walsh-fronted series has been axed to make way for Rylan. This is NOT the case.

In fact, every year, The Chase takes a break and it just so happens Babushka will be filling in while it's off air on this occasion.

It's got so bad that Rylan has quit Twitter after pleading with people to stop harassing him.

When we asked him how he deals with internet trolls, he defiantly told us: "I honestly couldn't give a f**k.

"At the end of the day, I'm still here and I'm doing well for myself. I've bought my first house – no, actually, I built my first house from scratch! How many people can say that?

"I'm proud of what I've done and what I'm doing."

He added: "To be honest, people don't usually give me a hard time on Twitter. When I'm on live TV, I mess up all the time, but the reason I get away with it is because I never cover it up.

"If I f**k up, I'll just say. The worst thing you can do is try to hide it. I just blame my veneers!"

And that – of course – is another thing Rylan is sometimes given a hard time about: his pearly white teeth.

"I don't give a f**k what people say about my teeth either," he continued. "I've made so much money out of them, they've paid for themselves!"

But is he really content with how they look?

"I'll never be happy with any of it," he confessed. "So I wouldn't rule out getting anything else done. I'm a firm believer that if you're not happy with something, then you need to take action.

"I'm not saying I'm pro-plastic surgery, don't get me wrong. I just think if you want to do it then go for it. It's your body so you should be able to do whatever it is that makes you happy."

Rylan's new gameshow Babushka is set to launch next week, with 20 episodes already in the bag.

The aim of the game is to open eight out of ten Russian dolls to win up to £44,000, but in order to gain access to the props, contestants must first correctly answer a true or false question.

If they get an answer wrong, they lose all banked cash. And if they open an empty doll, they also lose their cash pot. And there is no opportunity to cash out early.

"It is so brutal because people literally lose everything," Rylan added. "The contestants have had huge rows, fallen out and cried. It's so tense and completely f**ked up!

"I actually had to fill out an insurance form before I was allowed to take the job to make sure I'm in good health because it's so nerve-racking."

Babushka airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV from Monday, May 1.
