Sadness as Arnold flower shop with the 'best' arrangements closes due to 'economic downturn'

Residents have expressed their sadness after a popular flower shop in a Nottinghamshire town has shut. Nene's Flowers, on Front Street, Arnold, has permanently closed due to an 'economic downturn'.

The bespoke florist, with over 35 years of experience, supplied floral arrangements "for any occasion". A statement on the shop's website reads: "We are sad to say Nene’s Flowers is closing its doors for the last time on Saturday the 15th of June.

"Thank you for your custom." This was followed by a Facebook post announcing that the shop's last day was going to be Saturday, June 15.

Following the sad announcement, customers were quick to react and express their sadness regarding the closure.User John Waddington said: "When I needed flowers for a funeral you did something the family truly loved.

"Good luck for the future. You will be a loss to the high street." User Grace Chloe added: "Oh bless you all. Thank you for the most beautiful flowers over the years guys! Good luck with your next adventure."

Another customer, Diane Devonshire, said: "That's a shame. Always helpful and polite. Good luck for the future." Sue Creek added that Nene's Flowers "did the best arrangements", while Darryl Munday said the closure was a "sad day".

The shop also scored 4.4/5 stars on Google reviews. Mark Anderson said: "Good service, lovely flowers, very friendly, delivery on time, they make it easy." Dave Allen added: "Excellent service, my mum was over the moon with her flowers."
