Sam Thompson has opened up about his desire to become a parent alongside girlfriend Zara McDermott following his ADHD diagnosis.

Thompson, 30, has been busy filming a new documentary to highlight what life with ADHD is like as he delves into the effect his condition has on his day to day living.

The Made In Chelsea star is set to tell all in E4 offering Sam Thompson: Is This ADHD? And admits a large part of his motivation in addressing the subject was his urge to be a good father.

He told the Mirror: “A big thing for me was kids. I do want kids and I want to know I can look after a child. I want to know I’m the provider and I’m the carer and that I can be the security that child needs to grow up.”

The show will see Thompson open up about his relationship with McDermott and discuss how she has helped to support him through his struggles with his condition.

He confessed that learning to recognise the difficulties his behaviour can bring has only made them stronger as a couple.

Thompson then revealed his plans for marriage and babies with McDermott - but not until she has made the most of her career.

He continued:“I’ve always known I want to be with her for the rest of my life, that’s a given. I’m definitely not engaged but I love her to bits. I don’t want to be with anyone else. I asked myself that question a couple of years ago. I was 28 at that point, I was like, ‘If I don’t want to be with a girl for the rest of my life, what is the point of that relationship?’
