Sam Thompson admits he isn't worried about Zara McDermott and Strictly curse

Sam Thompson has admitted that he doesn't feel threatened by the Strictly Come Dancing curse when it comes to girlfriend Zara McDermott.

The Made In Chelsea star confessed he has no worries about McDermott, 26, straying when she joins the line-up of the hit BBC dance competition in September despite her previous infidelity and the strain often placed on relationships by the intense training schedule.

The couple broke up in 2020 when McDermott confessed she had cheated on him, but they got back together after she very publically apologised to him.

Talking to Pete Wicks on his Staying Relevant podcast Thompson said: "She was 22… so f****** young. You know when you look at them and you go, 'She ain't going to do that again?'I could see in her face.

"You can just tell when someone has a beautiful heart and a beautiful soul and just f***** up."

Thompson also confessed that while he had been unfaithful to his exes - including Tiffany Watson - he has never cheated on McDermott.

He continued: "You'd be some w***** to have done it yourself and can't forgive."

McDermott had an affair with someone in the music business during her stint on Celebrity X Factor.

At the time she owned up to her infidelity and apologised to Sam for the upset it had caused.

She said: "A huge mistake I made a year ago has recently come to light and I want to face this head on.

"I don’t condone being unfaithful and I made a huge mistake at a time in my life where I was hugely selfish and immature.

"I believe I have learnt so much from my mistake. I want to apologise to my Sam for everything I have put him through, for the pain, the embarrassment, the anger and the hurt.

"All I want to do is make this right and I think the least he deserves is me being honest with myself and all of you. I love you Sam. Forever x."
