“Samsung Electronics, as well as independent expert organizations who conducted their own investigation into various aspects of the Galaxy Note 7 incidents, will share their findings,” reads a statement from the Korean firm, as reported by The Verge.

“Samsung will discuss the findings of the investigations and unveil new measures Samsung has implemented in response to the incidents.”

The doomed handset was first recalled in September just weeks after it went on sale after users reported issues with the batteries.

Samsung later started a replacement programme for affected devices.

However, following an increasing number of reports of the phone exploding or catching fire, the firm later issued a global product call and ceased making the Note 7 altogether.

It advised all customers with a Note 7 to return it immediately, in many cases using specially made fire-resistant boxes. The handset is still banned on most airlines.

While the issue is thought to centre around the battery, Samsung has so far been somewhat vague on disclosing the exact fault.
