The comedienne was announced as Stephen’s replacement after he quit the show following an impressive 13 years presenting the hit show.

Speaking to BANG! Showbiz, Sandi said that she was looking forward to the challenge of taking on such a ‘fabulous’ show.

“I’m looking forward to it, let’s put it that way. I’m not really somebody who worries about pressure. I’ve been doing this a very long time and it’s a fabulous show. What I know is that the team who put it together are probably the best production team for this kind of thing in the world, so I’m just going to do what they tell me,” she said.

The former The News Quiz host has previously called the role her ‘dream job’.

She went on to credit Stephen as a good friend and said that she’s sure he will be in touch with a few tips before her first show.

The 57-year-old explained: “Stephen’s been away and I haven’t seen him, but I’ve known him since I was 19 and I don’t think he’ll be shy about telling me things.”

However, one place she won’t be looking is social media – admitting that she doesn’t even have an account on Twitter.

Sandi added: “I don’t engage with social media and I think that’s the secret to my longevity.”
