Sandro Tonali's return date with Newcastle revealed after FA clear star of further punishment
Newcastle United star Sandro Tonali can now safely count down the next six Toon games knowing he will be back on the pitch from game three of the Premier League programme next season.
Tonali's 10-month ban will not see any further punishment bolted on after the FA concluded their investigation on the player and handed him a two-month suspended sentence. Tonali was also fined £20,000 and warned by the FA as to his future conduct.

A Newcastle spokesperson said: "The banning period is fully suspended for the duration of the 2024/25 season, meaning he will be available to return to competitive football upon the conclusion of an existing ten-month sanction imposed by the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) on 27 October 2023. Provided that he does not commit any further breach of the FA Betting Rules during the suspension period, Sandro will not serve any part of the two-month sanction."
It means that Tonali will be back in action from the third match day of the season for the 2024/25 season. The end date for Tonali's ban is August 27, 2024 and the new season kicks off on August 16/17 in the Premier League.
In the mean time Tonali will train with his Newcastle team-mates as the club say: "Sandro is continuing to follow a therapeutic plan and educational programme with the club's full support and will continue to train with his teammates."
Tonali was suspended last October and had his initial 18-month suspension cut to 10 months given his thorough cooperation with authorities in his native Italy.
