Sandwell Local Elections 2024 - full list of polling stations

Polls have opened across the borough where voters will be given the chance to shape a third of the seats on Sandwell Council. Labour holds a very strong majority on Sandwell Council and currently has 59 councillors followed by eight Conservative councillors, three independents and two non-aligned councillors.

Sandwell is divided into 24 wards represented by 72 ward councillors. One seat from each ward is up for election today (Thursday, May 2). Voting hours will be from 7am to 10pm but the ballot papers will be counted from 10am on Friday (May 3) at Tipton Sports Academy.

The first results are expected to be announced by 1.30pm with all results anticipated to have been declared by 4pm. Elections are also being held to decide the next mayor of the West Midlands and the region’s police and crime commissioner. Those results will be announced on Saturday (May 4).

Voters in Sandwell will be issued with three ballot papers – one each for your preferred choice for Sandwell Council, West Midlands Mayor and West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner.

Sandwell Council has reminded voters to check where they can vote after several changes were made to the borough’s polling stations ahead of this year’s elections. Appropriate photo ID must also be shown before you can vote.
