BBC and ITV are just a few days away from going head to head in the Clash of the Channels Boat Race for Sport Relief – but from the sounds of it, there hasn't been much training going on.
At least not in the BBC team, according to Radio 2 DJ Sara Cox.
Sara will be joined by a team consisting of Olympic gold medallist James Cracknell, as well as Rory Reid, Dan Walker, Sophie Raworth, Ellie Harrison and Dev Griffin when they go up against ITV in the 1,200-metre race, but Sara says all the team have done so far is set up a WhatsApp group.
Well, that's always helpful, we suppose.
Speaking on Dermot O'Leary's Radio 2 Saturday Breakfast show today (March 17), Sara Cox was quick to reveal that she's done very little to prepare for the challenge after Dermot questioned if she'd done "eight weeks' training" for the race.
"Who? What?" she replied. "I hope the ITV team haven't because the BBC certainly haven't. We've just been on WhatsApp going 'Yo! Where we going?'"
The challenge will see two teams of eight people race, with Olympic gold medal winner Helen Glover also on the show to share a few details of that the teams will face.
"They haven't had long, and they haven't had many training sessions," she shared. "It's really hard to fall in, but it's really easy to make a mistake [...] It's harder than it looks."
"I was trying to get the cox gig," Sara joked. "I thought it was kinda cute. I've got the surname, I'm used to sitting on my bottom, shouting at people, you know it's kind of what I do... but I wasn't allowed to."
The BBC team will be going up against the ITV team, which consists of Ferne McCann, Charlotte Hawkins, Nicola Thorp, Chris Bisson, Jake Canuso and Chris Hughes, with help from Glover too.
Of course, the teams have been doing *some* training for the big race – they've been in the boat together, at least – but we'll find out which channel comes out on top when the Clash of the Channels Boat Race airs as part of a full night of exciting entertainment marking the end of a week's worth of Sport Relief events on Friday (March 23).
