The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) released satellite footage on Friday, September 24, showing Hurricane Sam moving west over the Atlantic Ocean.
The National Hurricane Center expected the weather system to “rapidly” intensify into a “major hurricane” on Friday night and early Saturday. There were no coastal watches or warnings in effect.
