Satellite imagery captured Tropical Cyclone Megan making landfall in Australia’s Northern Territory on Monday, March 18.

Timelapse footage captured between Friday and Monday by the Cooperative Institute for Research in the Atmosphere (CIRA) shows the cyclone moving from the Gulf of Carpentaria toward the Port McArthur area.

According to the Bureau of Meteorology, Tropical Cyclone Megan weakened from a Category 3 to Category 1 storm after making landfall, and will weaken further until Tuesday morning. Credit: CSU/CIRA & JMA/JAXA via Storyful
