Satellite Images Show New Camps in Southern Gaza

Before-and-after satellite images from April 7 and April 23 show the construction of two camps near the cities of Khan Yunis and Rafah in southern Gaza, according to Maxar, a space technology company based in Colorado that captured the images.

The images show a site in a rural area southeast of Khan Yunis and a second site about two miles south, in a rural area outside Rafah.

The camps were constructed ahead of an expected Israeli invasion of Rafah. According to the Wall Street Journal, the Israeli military “has said it plans to move Gazans to humanitarian enclaves to be constructed within the Gaza Strip, which would include food, water, shelter and medical services.” Credit: Maxar via Storyful
