Satellite Shows Tropical Cyclone Freddy Approaching Madagascar

A satellite captured images of Tropical Cyclone Freddy approaching landfall on island nation of Madagascar on Tuesday, February 21, according to the Cooperative Institute for Research in the Atmosphere (CIRA) which posted video online.

France’s meteorological agency, Meteo France, said Freddy was expected to make landfall on Madagascar’s east coast on Tuesday evening with extreme winds and dangerous sea conditions.

The storm was expected to strengthen again before making a second landfall in Mozambique at the end of the week, Meteo France said. Credit: CIRA via Storyful
